AmericaSpeaks has played an instrumental role in establishing The Campaign for Stronger Democracy, along with our partners at Demos, Everyday Democracy and faculty from Harvard’s Ash Center for Democratic Innovation and Governance.
The Campaign for Stronger Democracy will foster communication and collaboration across the democracy reform community to create a more powerful movement for stronger democracy.
In 2008, AmericaSpeaks and our partners brought together 50 leaders from the fields of electoral reform, public deliberation and community problem solving to develop shared recommendations (pdf) for the 2008 presidential candidates. A second meeting in 2009 brought together an expanded group of about 100 reformers to identify an action agenda to advance democracy reform efforts (pdf).
