Daniel Clark

Daniel has over 10 years of experience in citizen engagement and urban planning.  In his role as Deputy Director, Daniel works on nearly all aspects of our projects, including project management, outreach and communications, meeting design, facilitation and writing.

In the past three years, Daniel has performed management and support roles on a wide range of projects, from a national discussion for 3,500 people in 57 cities on our federal budget deficit to community forums about a range of community issues throughout the Washington, DC area.

Before joining AmericaSpeaks, Daniel managed his own urban planning and public involvement firm, All Together Planning.  Prior to that, Daniel worked for six years with the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission (now the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning) on its local and regional planning projects. This included the 4-year Common Ground project to produce the award-winning 2040 Regional Framework Plan for the Chicago metropolitan area. Daniel also worked on the Commission’s technical assistance team, providing planning and community engagement support to a number of suburban communities and Chicago community groups working on community planning, sustainability, green infrastructure, stakeholder collaboration, and citizen engagement.

Daniel has a Masters in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois in Chicago. He lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with his wife and two young children.
